I haven't updated anything on here in a LOOONG time, so here we go.
This summer I did a local art festival called the Whyte Ave Art Walk here in Edmonton, and it was SUPER successful. I sold a lot of paintings, made lots of connections and had fun participating with some good friends. After that all of that success I was struggling to paint anything. The mindset of selling art rather than doing art had taken over, and so I didn't like anything I was doing and got really depressed without my outlet for expression. Now that I've realized this, however, I can move forward better than ever. I can be impulsive, irrational and spontaneous in my work again which is really exciting. And with that, I decided to challenge myself to finish 100 paintings in 365 days. That's A LOT for somebody who is going to school full time and is only in the studio there twice a week. But I want this for myself. I've got to pay my dues, keep my head down and work hard. I am GOING to do this. These 100 will be exhausting, but I am worth it.
Stay tuned to see 100 new pieces of art ALL within the next year, or challenge yourself along with me!
